Wings is a 28 ft. ketch (an H-28) designed by L. Francis Herreshoff in 1947. She was built in the 1960's for the great lakes. She is undergoing a complete restoration, including ballast, new keel bolts, deadwood, floor timbers, frames, planking, decks, cabins, cockpit, transom, rudder, tiller, interior, engine, and systems.

Ariel

Lara formerly Harbinger is a 39' Concordia yawl designed by Ray Hunt and built in 1957 by Abeking and Rassmussen in Lemwerder, Germany. She is here for new keel bolts, floor timbers, frame repair, cockpit seat repair, accommodation modifications, system upgrades and refinishing.

Wings

Sadie G. Thomas is a 56' schooner designed and built by Ferdinand (Red) Nimphius, originally launched in 1992. We did a major renovation with upgrades in order to bring her to excellent condition. We relaunched her in the spring of 2013.  She is indeed a new boat. Sadie will return to us this fall for storage and maintenance.

Mirara

Ariel is a 34'7" double ended gaff cutter designed in 1950 by John Atkin as Vixen. Her design was the last of the double enders by the Atkins, influenced by the Norwegian life boats or Redningskoite designed by Colin Archer and introduced to American yacht design by William Atkin, John's father. Ariel has been with Traditional Boat since the Summer of 2010. She has had numerous repairs and upgrades which have included carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, spars, rigging, sails, hardware, and finishing throughout. We store and maintain Ariel.

Mirara (Polynesian for flying fish) is a circa 1914 B.B. Crowninshield Dark Harbor 17. She is 17 1/2' on the waterline. We saved her from where she rested partially sunk with her keel in the mud on the Mystic River in Noank. Our restoration of her has included multiple new frames and floor timbers, a new forefoot-stem section, plank replacement, new rudder, gudgeons, rudderpost, rudder tube, tiller, coach roof, canvas deck, deck molding, toe and rub rails, fashion piece, cockpit benches, bulkhead, cockpit and cabin soles, restoration of her bronze rigging and deck hardware, a new jib club and a complete interior and exterior refinishing. She now sails the waters of Eggemoggin Reach and returns to us for maintenance and storage.

Sadie is a 34' down east cruiser/lobster yacht built by Ronald Rich in Southwest Harbor, Maine in 1960. She has had extensive restoration with us staged over the past decade.

mambo

Mambo is a 40' yawl designed by Ted Hood in 1958 and built in Japan in 1960 known as the Torr 40. She was damaged when another boat drifted down onto her. She has had repairs to a chainplate, sheerstrakes, deck, and bow pulpit. She will return to the shop for repair of garboard and centerboard trunk leaks, inner diagonal planking repair, and complete refinishing.

Royal

We presently are building a Traditional Boat 31 downeast power cruiser. She was originally designed by Royal Lowell in 1984 as a lobsterboat. She is 30'8" overall with a 10'8" beam. She is skeg built although the hull does have a significant amount of "build down" with a nice tuck which carries through to the transom sill. She is built of white oak with native eastern white cedar planking and is bronze fastened.
